The International Agricultural Economics Division (IAED) is one of the divisions under the Office of Agricultural Economics (OAE) which has the following duties:


1. Studying, analyzing, and monitoring economic situations and agricultural policies of foreign countries, trade agreements, trade requirements, investment in the agricultural sector, climate change situation, food security, and agricultural economic cooperation at the bilateral and multilateral levels.

2. Studying, analyzing, and proposing negotiating positions for issues under the framework of free trade agreements and international organizations which involve agricultural trade and investment, climate change in agriculture, food security and international agricultural economic cooperation.

3. Providing recommendations to formulate international agriculture policies and strategies.

4. Monitoring international obligations and analyzing their implications to propose guidelines and support/remedial measures as well as coordinating and following up on the outcomes.

5. Coordinating with relevant agencies concerned with the emergency rice reserve.

6. Collaborating with or supporting the work of other relevant agencies and performing other assigned duties.
